1. About Us
SML Scrap & Property Maintenance is a sole trader business operating in Southend-on-Sea and the surrounding Essex area, including Leigh-on-Sea, Rayleigh, Rochford, Canvey Island, and Benfleet. By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.
2. Our Services
All work is subject to a prior quote and agreement. We reserve the right to decline any job at our discretion.
- Scrap metal removal and collection
- Vehicle maintenance (brake replacement, disc and oil changes)
- Painting and decorating
- Small demolition and structural clearance
- Garden green waste and rubbish removal
3. Quotes & Pricing
All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Prices are agreed before work begins. Any additional work identified during a job will be discussed and agreed with you before proceeding.
We accept cash and bank transfer. Payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4. Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking, please give us as much notice as possible by calling 07500 133 852. We reserve the right to charge for reasonable costs incurred if a job is cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice.
5. Your Responsibilities
- Safe and reasonable access to the work area
- That you have the legal right to authorise the work (e.g. as owner or tenant with permission)
- That any hazardous materials (asbestos, chemicals, etc.) are disclosed before work begins
- That vehicles presented for maintenance are legally owned by you or you have authority to authorise repairs
6. Liability
We take care with all work carried out. However, our liability is limited to the value of the work agreed.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
- Pre-existing damage or defects not caused by our work
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Damage caused by information you provided that was inaccurate or incomplete
7. Website Use
This website is provided for information purposes only. We make no guarantees about the accuracy or completeness of the content. You must not misuse this website by introducing viruses or other malicious material, or attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of it.
8. Privacy
Any personal information you provide via the contact form (name, phone number, email address) is used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
